Currently serving as the Deputy Head of Serbia at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Jelena brings 15 years of experience in finance and international development, with a strong focus on sustainable infrastructure and environmental sector. Prior to joining EBRD, she worked as an investment consultant at R. J. O’Brien, a Chicago-based commodity brokerage firm, where she gained valuable experience in financial markets. Throughout her career, Jelena has structured and led large-scale infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth, as well as related policy advisory and institutional capacity building. Jelena holds an MSc in Project Management from Northwestern University in Chicago. To date, the EBRD has invested over €10 billion in Serbia in 376 projects, with a focus on accelerating the green energy transition, enhancing private-sector competitiveness, and financing sustainable infrastructure.
